    Reserve academic spaces

University of Idaho offers a variety of academic spaces that can be reserved for trainings, workshops, lectures and campus events. Whether you're planning a professional development session or a student organization meeting, our academic facilities provide flexible, well-equipped environments in the heart of campus.

While classrooms are primarily used for university courses, many are available for use by university departments and recognized student groups. For larger gatherings hosted by university organizations or members of the public, consider the Idaho Student Union Building (ISUB) and the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) — two of the most versatile and centrally-located venues on campus.

Idaho Student Union Building (ISUB) and the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC)

The ISUB and TLC are connected buildings at the center of campus life, offering a wide range of services and event-ready spaces.

Learn more about the ISUB and TLC

    ISUB

ISUB is ideal for student group meetings, organization fairs and interactive programming. A vibrant hub for student activity, the ISUB offers:

    • Small and mid-sized meeting rooms
    • Dining services and catering options
    • Lounge areas and student support programs

    TLC

These spaces are perfect for instructional events, presentations and educational workshops. The TLC is U of I’s main classroom facility, featuring:

    • 35 modern classrooms with seating for over 1,500 students
    • An active learning classroom for group work and collaboration
    • A computer teaching lab for hands-on instruction

    Classroom scheduling

General-use classrooms at University of Idaho are managed by the Office of the Registrar. These spaces are primarily reserved for scheduled academic courses, which receive first priority each semester. Classroom assignments are handled through scheduling software that helps maximize availability and efficiency across campus.

When not in use for classes, general classrooms may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by:

    • U of I colleges and departments
    • ASUI-recognized student organizations
    • University-sponsored programs

At this time, classrooms are not available for reservation by community members.

If you have questions about classroom availability or reservation procedures, please contact the Office of the Registrar.
