    Soil science at University of Idaho

    We are preparing the next generation of soil scientists through a range of degree offerings.

    The Department of Soil and Water Systems researchers address resource issues related to soil, water and sustainable food, energy and waste systems.

    The Twelve Soil Orders website includes a collection of images and information used in classrooms around the world.

    Explore interdisciplinary approaches to managing soils for sustainable crop production, water supply and environmental quality with a bachelor's degree in environmental soil science.

    Develop valuable expertise about the soil ecosystem and build research skills to address soil issues related to sustainable agriculture and the environment with an advanced degree in soil and land resources.

    Extension

    Across Idaho, UI Extension educators and specialists work with residents to test, analyze and improve soil quality.

    UI Extension is helping farmers improve soil health on their farms.

    The U of I Analytical Sciences Laboratory provides soil analysis, fertility testing and environmental analysis.
