As a University of Idaho online M.B.A. student, you’ll gain the strategic, analytical and leadership skills needed to advance your career in today’s business world. Our fully online, 8-week classes are small and interactive, helping you connect with professors and peers while balancing school, work and life. With electives, certificate options and interdisciplinary pathways, you can tailor your M.B.A. to fit your goals.

Graduates step into leadership roles across industries, working as marketing managers, financial analysts, IT leaders, entrepreneurs, operations specialists and more. Current U of I undergraduates can also accelerate their path, beginning M.B.A. coursework in their last undergraduate year and finishing the degree faster.

Program at-a-glance:

University of Idaho’s M.B.A. is a 39-credit program, including 27 credits of core courses and 12 credits of interdisciplinary electives. Most students complete the degree in 15–24 months, giving you a fast, flexible path to advance your career while balancing work and life commitments.

Class format:

All M.B.A. courses are eight weeks long and fully online, so you can complete coursework on your own schedule. Each course also includes four live evening Zoom sessions to engage with faculty and peers. Classes are offered year-round across five terms — early fall, late fall, early spring, late spring and summer. Full-time students typically take two courses per term, while part-time students usually take one.

U of I alumni benefits:

As a University of Idaho alum, you can apply up to six credits of 4000-level undergraduate coursework toward your M.B.A., reducing the total credit requirement from 39 to 33. Alumni are also eligible for expedited admissions, making it faster and easier to begin your M.B.A. journey. Learn more about expedited admissions.

J.D./M.B.A. concurrent program:

University of Idaho offers a unique concurrent J.D./M.B.A. program, allowing you to earn both a Juris Doctor and an M.B.A. simultaneously. By sharing 12 credits between the J.D. and the M.B.A., you can complete the M.B.A. portion with just 15 additional credits beyond the J.D. (105 total credits), finishing both degrees in three years with summer courses. The M.B.A. courses are fully online, with small, 8-week classes that complement the in-person J.D. schedule and foster meaningful connections with peers and faculty. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles at the intersection of law and business, including corporate law, compliance, executive management and entrepreneurship.

Ready to earn your Master of Business Administration? To ensure you meet the requirements for admission, review the following criteria:

  • Education level: Bachelor's  
  • GPA: 3.0  
  • GRE: No  
  • TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo: 79/6.5/115 (for applicants whose education was completed in countries where English is not an official language)
  • Number of references: Two
  • Other requirements: No

Tuition and fees

There is no full-time tuition rate for the Online M.B.A. program. All students pay the same per-credit tuition, regardless of residency, term or enrollment status. Online M.B.A. courses are $885 per credit hour, which includes all tuition and fees.
